		<description>I completely agree with you Kevin.  Copyright was intended to provide the original author with an incentive to create by mitigating the threat of others being able to capitalize on his work.  It was never intended to provide a welfare system for them, their heirs, or corporations.  And it most certainly was never intended to destroy culture (or allow destruction of it through inaction).
My viewpoint has been informed by reading TechDirt - you might want to read that for some perspective.</description>
